July Burn: Aligning our hearts with Love

A Burn of Fascination:

Gazing at/Marveling at/ Ministering to and Knowing Jesus intimately is our priority for the Burn. The Burn is a vertically oriented, progressively deepening, broad spectrum, community offering of Worship with Prayer in the Air. . . .

“A progression and a procession into the deepest chambers of the King – the place where intimacy is cultivated and released. . . . We progress from striving and playing our instrument to the instrument that is being played.” That is when our heart beats in sync with the heart of the Father. ”” Sean Feucht

Revolutionary Prayer by Pete Grieg

Revolutionary Prayers By Pete Greig
Published: November 8th, 2009
Can our prayers change nations? Did prayer really help bring down the Berlin Wall? 20 years ago today the world watched stunned - from the Kremlin to the White House - as the wall which had separated East from West for more than quarter of a century came crashing down. And remarkably one of the [...]

Burn Long Island : August “Rush” – A Burn of Renewed Encounter

On the 4th Friday of every month we gather to worship and pray in a 12 hour fast of time and affection called “The Burn”. During this fast, we align ourselves with God’s heart and lay down our agendas to minister to Him first and then to one another. This is not a complacent religious exercise but a passionate romance of the Divine One.

There is no hype – we are transparent before The King so He is the only One marveled at. There is no time commitment – this is a time birthed from affection not labor. Come and leave as you need to.

Like Elijah, we come in weakness, with a sacrifice drenched in water so to speak. As we tear down the idols of our affection, we look to Holy Spirit to consume our sacrifice of worship and praise with the Consuming Fire of His Presence.

Someone once said that you can have as much of God as you want. The question is, “How much and how badly do you want Him?” This is an opportunity to wrestle away those things that vie for our attention; those things that although they may be good, they distract us from the remarkable depths of exploring the Beauty of God. “On the glorious splendor of Your Majesty and on Your wonderful works I will meditate. And men shall speak of Your awesome acts and I will tell of Your greatness.” Ps. 145:5-6

Come. Join us in worship as we turn our affections back to the Lord and in the process, watch our lives as well as Long Island break free from the things that have captured our affections and stolen our true identity in Christ.

If you are a musician, artist, creative type – bring your expression of choice with you. Feel free to draw, paint, etc. If you love to pray, bring your bible because we pray the scriptures. Most importantly, bring your heart.

If you or a group would like to take responsibility for leading a 1-2 hour “watch” of worship, we would be delighted to serve you in that. As a matter of fact, we will be richer if you do. Please contact us at Gworship9@yahoo.com and sign up for a time slot.

We look forward to contending and worshiping together with you. Much Love, IHOP-LI/The Burn: Long Island
