Tulsa – December 19th – 6a-Midnight – The Heart Church
Hello Tulsa and The Burn Community,
Apologies for not getting this notice out sooner. We’ll be at The Heart Church this month starting at 6am on Saturday morning. The Heart Church is located off of 61st Street between Garnett and Highway 169. There is a stop light right by a QuikTrip there, turn South (toward 71st street) at that light and follow the road around. The Heart Church is located right off of that road on the left (east) side of the road.
There’s been a couple of major events in the city since we last gathered. Two generals of our generation went on to their eternal reward: Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty and Oral Roberts. The work of both of these men is continuing, and will grow stronger as the coming of our Lord draws nearer. We shall meet them in the air!!
The ministries of both of these men was foundational also to The Burn. The Burn started in a dorm room at Oral Roberts University, and Victory Christian Center (Pastor Billy Joe’s church) was one of the first churches to open its doors to The Burn. Both of these ministries still support The Burn today.
This month let’s contend for their giftings to be multiplied in this generation. These men were apostles to this generation by reaching people and equipping Christians to be effective in our time. Doing things in ways that had never been done before, and having as a result millions of changed lives. Yes millions! What was accomplished in their lifetime could fill libraries of books, not just the people they touched, but the people they touched who also touched others and so on.
In the words of Bishop Oyedepo (sp), they are ‘gone, but not lost.’ Lets arise to the challenge of their example to lay down their lives, and take up the cross of Jesus without regard to the opinion of man or the way things have been done before. Let us be revolutionaries, who do not care if the way we’re doing things is the way its been done, or something new, it only matters that we’re effective!
Let’s follow Jesus with Him as our the standard of measure.
Father, we ask for what you put upon them and accomplished through them to be multiplied now in those of us that remain here. We ask for the passion, the determination, the abandonment to the cause of ‘salvation to every man, woman, boy and girl.’
May the songs we sing and the worship we bring at the Burn bless Your heart and open hearts and minds to the gospel.
May the unity we display say to the world that Jesus was sent by You!
And may the commanded blessing You send spill over and fill our hearts, our lives, our families, our communities, our world! We ask in Jesus name!
Come join us Saturday for another time of abandoned worship and praise!
